My name is Sister Maria Jaci. I have been a Sister of Mary for seven years and hold a degree in Psychology. I currently live in Santa Maria, Brazil, and have the grace of being very close to the Tabor Shrine. I live in the Movement’s house, the “Centro Mariano”, and I am the advisor responsible for the Schoenstatt Girls’ Youth in the southern region of Brazil. For me, being the living presence of Mary in the world is expressed through small things, and in my work I see this happen when accompanying young women, listening to their struggles, their relationship challenges, or their difficulties with studies—especially in the university environment. My work motivates and inspires me each day, but our family life as Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary and our life of prayer are the sources from which we draw the strength that ensures fidelity to our mission.I am only a small instrument. Without a life of prayer, I would not be able to carry out my work or fulfill my mission with the youth.
My hope is that all people, especially the young women with whom I work, may find their way to the Heavenly Father through the Mother of God. May they discover in the Shrine a true home, a true school of holiness.
