So this is our shrine. Our beautiful villa Maria shrine. Come inside with me. Let’s open it up. My name is Sister Glynis. I’m a South African from Johannesburg, but I’ve been sixty three years in Cape Town. This shrine was built in 1952, the first one in Cape Town, but the second one in South Africa. The first one being in Cathcart in the Eastern Cape. This shrine was built in, as I say, in 1952 at the request of our founder, Father Joseph Kentenich. He asked sisters to please build a shrine so it could become a home for many people who would be passing by or who would belong to the movement. So we have a very busy city shrine. This is called a city shrine. Because people are working around us. There are, there are restaurants. There are offices there, accommodation. As you can see, it’s the same as all the other shrines throughout the world. And Mary is the light of our hope. This is a central place of silence, peace, peace and healing and love. People love to come to the shrine.
