ES: San Vicente Pallotti (1795-1850) es el fundador de la Sociedad del Apostolado Católico, conocida como Padres Palotinos, comunidad a la que perteneció el P. Kentenich hasta 1965, fecha en que fue incardinado en la diócesis de Münster, Alemania. Pallotti fue precursor de la participación activa de los laicos en la Iglesia y tuvo la inspiración de organizar las fuerzas apostólicas de la Iglesia como una federación de comunidades que trabajan en unidad con el objeto de evangelizar en un espíritu fraterno. El P. Kentenich vio esta iniciativa “mamut”, según sus palabras, como una de los tres fines del Movimiento de Schoenstatt, llamándole Confederación Apostólica Universal, y si bien se trata de un objetivo altamente difícil de lograr, sino prácticamente imposible, el P. Kentenich fundamentó su decisión de tomarlo como un fin de Schoenstatt al ver que los frutos del Santuario apuntaban a formar personalidades dispuestas a asumir esta misión “mamut”, por la espiritualidad y pedagogía que surge de la Alianza de Amor en el Santuario.
San Vicente fue beatificado el 22 de enero de 1950 por el Papa Pío XII, y canonizado el 20 de enero de 1963. Su fiesta es el 22 de enero. Vicente Pallotti es un santo muy querido por Schoenstatt.
EN: St. Vincent Pallotti (1795-1850) is the founder of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, known as the Pallottine Fathers, a community to which Fr. Kentenich belonged until 1965, when he was incardinated in the diocese of Münster, Germany. Pallotti was a precursor of the active participation of the laity in the Church and had the inspiration to organize the apostolic forces of the Church as a federation of communities working in unity with the aim of evangelizing in a fraternal spirit. Fr. Kentenich saw this “mammoth” initiative, in his words, as one of the three goals of the Schoenstatt Movement, calling it the Universal Apostolic Confederation, and although it is a very difficult goal to achieve, if not practically impossible, Fr. Kentenich based his decision to take it as a goal of Schoenstatt on seeing that the fruits of the Shrine were aimed at forming personalities willing to assume this “mammoth” mission based in the spirituality and pedagogy that comes from the Covenant of Love in the Shrine.
St. Vincent was beatified on January 22, 1950 by Pope Pius XII, and canonized on January 20, 1963. His feast day is January 22. Vincent Pallotti is a very dear saint to Schoenstatt.
