Before this image of Mary, an eight‑year‑old Joseph Kentenich stood with his mother. It was April 12, 1894.
In difficult circumstances, she had to leave him at an orphanage in Oberhausen, Germany.
In her distress, she entrusted her son to Mary, as his Mother and Educator.
Here, Joseph consecrated his heart. Today, we follow his example,
entrusting our own lives to Mary.
A few sisters give testimony to what the consecration to Mary means for them. Sr. M. Agnes form India:
The consecration to Our Lady is the strength for my vocation.
Sr. Ann-Marie from Ireland:
For me Marian Consecration means fulfilling the words Jesus said to us, “Behold your Mother, behold your son.”
Sr. M. Angel from India:
Through the Marian Consecration I feel that Mary takes care of me very perfectly, and she helps me in all of the difficult situations. I feel that I am always a child of Mary.
