I am Sister Christina-Maria. I study theology, and in my sixth semester I change

I am Sister Christina-Maria. I study theology, and in my sixth semester I changed my place of study to Eichstätt. That means I live alone in my apartment and return to my community during semester breaks. Outwardly, you could say I have a normal student life. And yet, something is fundamentally different — because I am a Sister of Mary.
As a consecrated person, I stand in the midst of everyday life, trying to connect faith and life anew. We as Christians are not called to withdraw, but to be right in the middle of life. The university cafeteria is the best place for that — even if it’s sometimes loud and lively — because that’s where life happens. It’s about being there, entering into conversation with people about what moves them, being present, and making God present there. [That’s what I find important.]
What also gives me a lot of strength is the bond with my community. Knowing that even though I am outwardly alone here, I still have a home — in a family and in a place. There is our Schoenstatt Shrine — the place of Schoenstatt — a place personally connected to many important experiences for me.
And it’s also the connection with people, where truly deep relationships have grown — relationships that carry me when things are difficult, and whom I, in turn, am allowed to carry.
